Every week, I go out into different communities in District 13 that are frequent target areas for illegal dumping. Too often, they are messy situations, to say the least.
This is OUR community. We need to respect and protect our neighborhoods. Oftentimes, we do not hold each other accountable. If you see something — say something!
I encourage neighbors to organize community clean-ups and I’d love to lend a helping hand! Report trash/illegal dumping/dirty alley’s to 311, record the service request number that the operator or smart-phone app gives you, and pass it along to my office so that we can follow up w/ 311 to hold the city accountable.
On April 22nd, the International Union of Painters & Allied Trades held their 2nd annual Community Day of Action throughout the United States and Canada.
IUPAT District Council No. 50, serves the Maryland, Virginia and Washington D.C. area with over 2,000 active members in the workforce made up of painters, drywall finishers, glass workers, decorators, paint makers and much more!
IUPAT wanted to show that they are good neighbors who have a long tradition of building up their communities. Our very own Tench Tilghman Elementary/Middle School was selected and benefitted from new glass guard windows, newly painted classrooms, and a community clean up. Volunteers from the union and the community cleaned the grounds of the school, including the basketball court and playground.
Oftentimes, our Baltimore City Public Schools can be overlooked. This is why we are very appreciative for the work that IUPAT DC 50 has done for our children and the community.
